When you plug into the TranZformer GTR, the first thing your signal hits is the pedal's variable-gain preamp. Teeming with classic API character, this preamp includes a Gain knob with 0dB to +40dB of gain; more gain delivers more boost or overdrive. The Mode knob toggles between an undistorted Clean Boost and an Overdrive mode that drives a 2510 op-amp into saturation. Guitar-optimized 3-band EQ

The high-frequency band is centered at 5kHz, the mid-frequency band at 1.5kHz, and the low-frequency band at 200Hz. All three bands feature peak-style filters; the high-frequency band also includes a switchable shelving filter type.
