From the company committed to offering musicians high-quality MIDI controllers at an outstanding price comes their most compact MIDI controller keyboard to date: the Nektar SE25. This strikingly sleek keyboard controller is as feature-packed as it is portable. Featuring 25 velocity-sensitive mini keys, three velocity curves, and six assignable buttons that control the essentials you look for in a controller, the SE25 packs in everything you need for hands-on control and DAW integration — and you can fit it in a book bag! At Sweetwater, we are really excited about this compact MIDI keyboard controller.
Keys designed for great response!
Nektar knows the keys on a MIDI controller keyboard are one of its most important features. That’s why they put countless hours of research and design into the velocity-sensitive mini keys on the SE25. These small keys respond beautifully with a nice firm feel and great rebound. There are even three different velocity curves that let you adjust the keyboard response to fit your unique playing style. The result is a comfortable playing experience as you explore the expansive world of virtual instruments.
Easy-to-use controls
The SE25’s user interface is streamlined and easy to navigate. The six buttons to the left of the keyboard are preassigned to octave shift, transpose, and sustain. And if you don’t need access to transpose functions, you can assign the transpose buttons to control pitch bend, MIDI volume, pan, track, or patch change instead. The “S” sustain button can be reassigned as a modulation control.
Double up with Part Two
The unique Part Two feature enables you to play in ways not even possible on larger keyboards with many more keys! Press the “2” button to temporarily shift octaves, add an octave or harmony layer while playing, or switch to a different MIDI channel. And the moment you release the Part Two button, the SE25 reverts back to its original settings, so you can toggle back and forth between two different keyboard configurations in real time. This provides you with a multitude of unique performance possibilities. The “2” button is assignable to Octave, MIDI Channel, Transpose, Layer, and Latch features or a combination thereof.
Hands-on DAW control and software
Download Nektar’s DAW integration software and use the SE25 to control DAW transport functions as well as track selection, so you can put down the mouse or give your track pad a rest and gain hands-on control over your DAW. It also comes with a Bitwig 8-Track DAW that features over 50 software instruments and effects. Whether you are just getting started in MIDI/DAW integration or are a seasoned pro, the SE25 has plenty to offer!
